Great. I think it's great to train outside. It's real, and powerful.

It doesn't look easy, just easier than an art which takes years of daily practice to learn the basics of.

It is nice to be able to supplement long term training with some potent martial training.

I find that some of my training with one of your students approaches the guided chaos material in intensity, but not impact.

I enjoy hitting things myself and hit myself often, much harder than I have been hit in martial training outside of Wing Chun. In WC getting hit and hitting at full speed was an essential part of training, very practical, just like the WTBA in that regard, despite the difference of approach.

Having tried that approach for a time I can't say it suits me, but it is very effective at developing skill.

It's not all that easy, because the strikes can be fairly potent. (They make it look easy, though.)

I won't train that way until folks have spent some time relaxing and growing comfortable with being struck. Otherwise, they get to reactive: they tense up and get more and more fearful as attacks become ruthlessly endless.

It's one of those things that I've seen often in soft-stylists: they may practice relaxing for years, but as soon as they're hit with some force (even a little) they tense right up, cowering internally, wondering where their skills evaporated to?!

Of course, there are various speeds and potencies to lend to the experience. But generally, people don't take too well to being struck, even lightly.

I haven't seen Fu Style.

It looks far easier to employ that the taiji I know.
Very practical for being able to use it in a short amount of time.

Do you know of Fu style Tai Chi?
It is a hard soft style mixing several styles and discarding many principals in favor of others. Very effective taiji based martial art.

No, not WTBA...Ki Chuan Do. John Perkins, the developer of Attack Proof, created his own style.

I have the book, and, if I remember right, it's in the book (or maybe it's on their website) that they make the claim that they do "Taiji combat better than Taiji people" (that's not a direct quote), and I think that they're right.

When people go far enough with me, we play-fight in ways that might look like similar to this.
